Happy New Year to you all! I'm delighted to announce that I've just finished writing and producing a signature song and accompanying instrumental music for Universal Studios Singapore. My 5 minute pop dance theme song will open and close Universal's spectacular "Hollywood Dreams" Parade which features hit music, over 100 performers and characters from popular films Madagascar, Shrek and The Lost World. The accompanying instrumental tracks will be performed throughout Universals park to entertain guests before and after the parade. A big thanks to my vocalist Nikki Palikat and my client M-Integrated UK who were responsible for designing the attraction. Click here to listen to a sample of my latest commission.

I'm pleased to announce that my new music library has been added to the website this month. In total the library contains eight different genres so far including Enchanting, Uneasy, Asia, Epic, Jazz etc. Over the coming months I hope to add more music to some of the genres thus providing more choice for new and existing production clients.

It's been a busy new year so far composing music for an extensive McD prosperity and CNY campaign containing 8 separate commercials followed by a set of 3 breakfast commercials for Leo Burnett advertising agency. For the early CNY ads I used a mixture of programmed traditional Chinese instrumentation mixed with live solo violin performances. For the latter commercials I produced a mixture of acoustic guitar lead tracks followed by an electro pop track that you can listen to here.

I've also been working with Felt Music UK again, pitching for Barclays Bank's latest TV campaign and composing additional music for their movie and television production library. Some of these tracks can be heard here.

Just finished a cinematic music composition for Domino's latest TV commercial produced by The Big Blue Bubble Ad Agency. Most of the music was programmed in Logic using a variety of virtual instruments including Vienna Symphony Orchestra and Stormdrums. However I took the liberty of performing & recording live trumpet for this one to help bring the piece alive. Have a listen.

Working closely with Leo Burnet and The Directors Thinktank (production company) on a set of 3 high profile McD ads. Each commercial featured a storyline where the main characters performed music on instruments/utensils or sang. Therefore I was required to compose music before each of the commercials was filmed so that the actors could sync their performances to the music. Have a listen.

For the first TVC (set in a music shop) I recorded and performed vocals, acoustic & electric guitars along with programmed drums (Easy Drummer). For the 2nd TVC (set at a pool party) I again recorded and performed live vocals and guitars plus live brass for some of the backing lines, in addition I performed a rap over the hiphop section of the TVC. For the final commercial (set in a college canteen)I produced music entirely made from sampled kitchen utensils and programmed rhythms using Stormdrums. Finally I recorded vocal talents who chanted the all important lyrics. Watch the TVC's on my showreel page.

My latest work for Avonmore's new TV commercial is currently showing in the UK. The commercial was animated by the award winning FlickerPix. Conceptualised by BBDO, creative directors were Bill Hollingsworth & Dylan Cotter. I performed and recorded a variety of plucks, taps and strums on the acoustic guitar and combined it with a mixture of programmed eastern and western sounds to create an organic uplifting track. Have a listen.

I took a wee break to travel South America. Had an amazing time, just finished producing a short video about my time as a volunteer in a Bolivian animal refuge. Aside from composing the music I also edited the shots and somehow managed to film most of it myself on a $150 digital camera. Watch here.

Whilst in Buenos Aires I got the opportunity to collaborate with the talented Mexican composer Alejandro Castanos on a track for an upcoming musical for Studios Sanchez & Lendezman in Mexico.

2000-2008
This section is pre blog so I've only listed a small selection of
highlights during this period.
Starting in 2007 I composed music for over
100 episodes of animation, mainly for the shows Planet Bizzaro
and The Bubbletown Club. For the latter I hired four talented
Jazz session musicians from the UK and Malaysia to perform written
lines and improv over a variety of musical themes that I composed
for the show. The animated series aired in US, Asia and The Middle
East.
Whilst composing music for the film "Pua" I
was fortunate to get the opportunity to record a collection of
lush Asian sounds performed by a variety of skilled Asian musicians.
Produced by GS productions and directed by Virginia Kennedy, this
film won the award for "Best Short Film Documentary" at the 50th
Asia Pacific Film Festival.
Alongside composers Steven Parsons and Francis
Haines I composed music for five full length feature movies in
the UK, "The Piano Player" which starred the late Dennis Hopper,
"9 Dead Gay Guys" starring Steven Berkoff , "Arthurs Dyke" starring
Pauline Quirke, "Phoenix Blue" starring Amanda Donohoe and "Conspiracy
of Silence" which features the London Symphony Orchestra who we
hired to perform the score.
Of the many themed attractions and amusement
parks that I composed music for during this period my favourite
projects include producing cinematic soundtracks for the worlds
first 10 loop roller coaster, "Colossus", featured in both Thorpe
Park UK and Heide Park Germany. I also enjoyed sculpting an ambient
and chilled soundtrack to fit the revolutionary flying ride "Air"
at Alton Towers and was flattered by the many emails I received
from the public who said they enjoyed the music I composed.
